Took Lynette & Lefty (Lynette Wolfe and David Gardner) to the studio today. Lefty laid down some fantastic guitar solos for "When Willie Gets Behind the Beat," and the two of them helped bring "Girl with Upright Bass" and "Lead Me Not" to life, too.

Performed with the Tuesday Uke Group (TUG) at Hope Presbyterian Church this evening. Afterward, several of us went to the Iron Cactus to see Lynette & Lefty.
Kaye and I played sans Pablo at The Watercrest in Bryan today. We actually had a great set, but it did seem odd not to have Paul around.
In what is becoming an increasingly rare sight, the Kaye Pasa Trio played at Kenz Guitars on the square in Georgetown tonight. Next week, it'll just be Kaye and I in Bryan--first time I've ever played there without Pablo.
Paul, Kaye and I performed at B.B. Rovers tonight. With Paul's busy schedule (Kaye Pasa, Smiledon, The Truebadors, solo, and David Wilcoxan), it might be the last time for a while that Paul plays with us there. We're kinda bummed about it, too.
Kaye and I played at NeWorlDeli tonight. Didn't manage to get a pic of both of us on stage, but we did share four out of our six songs, and we actually went back on stage for a few more later on.
In preparation for an EP (still don't understand why a CD with only five or six songs should be called an "extended play," but apparently, it is) of The Kaye Pasa Trio, we recorded KPT versions of "Beer and Pretzels for Communion," "Guilty Pleasure," and "Lady Lovely" today. The last song was a touch of genius on my part, adding Kaye's harmonies and my baritone uke to Paul's guitar and vocals from his first solo album and adding. Easy-peasy, man.
For my third year in a row, I performed in the benefit for the Health Alliance for Austin Musicians (HAAM), this time as one-third of The Kaye Pasa Trio. Great fun.
Richard Leslie arrived early this morning, and then he, David and I went to Byrd House Studio to begin work on Honky Tonk Hymnal. Managed to record the scratch tracks...er, reference tracks, I mean, for seven songs:
Beer and Pretzels for Communion Come a Little Closer Girl with Upright Bass God Bless This Here Beer Guilty Pleasure Mississippi de Tejas When Willie Gets Behind the Beat Even finished an hour ahead of schedule. David and Richard returned to their respective homes in Plano and Waco that afternoon. David Harbaugh arrived early this morning, so we shared a brunch at Kirby Lane. He saw Kaye and I perform at The Legacy at Crystal Falls, and that evening we went to the South First Food Court to hear Lynette & Lefty play.
