Glad I bought the Bose L1 Compact. Paul and I put it to the test today at Watercrest, We plugged our guitars and mics into a Yamaha EMX4512SC powered mixer, and ran a cord from it to the Bose. Great sound.
We discovered we needed to back-off the mics a bit. The system buzzed a little if we sang too close to our mics. Sorta the opposite of the BBR system where you have to "swallow the mic" to hear the vocals at all.
With the Bose serving as mains and monitors, we and the crowd heard the same thing. Also the back of the room seemed to hear us more clearly than using the old in-house PA system.
I feel confident that it was a good investment for future gigs. As advertized, it's lightweight and portable, plus it produces great sound.
