After weeks of planning to go and something coming up (bronchitis and/or holidays), I finally attended Sonya Jevette's open mic at the Iron Cactus. It's nice to have another place to play in NW Austin. Hopefully, live music is on the comeback trail up here.

I forgot to take a photo of the Tuesday Uke Group last night. We met at my house because our regular meeting place was unavailable. Thanks to everyone who came.
Went to Bee Cave, Texas to support Paul playing at the Lone Star Farmers Market there. Ended up sharing the gig with him, which was great. I wish I'd had my 12er there, but we made do with him on guitar and me on the cuatro and harmonica.
Later, I went to B.B. Rovers to perform at the Sunday open mic night. It was a smallish crowd, so we each got four songs. I started and finished with the songs that are currently me usual for those spots: "Don't Dallas My Austin" and "Hot Pepper Tamale." In between, I played two newer songs: "Daddy Is a Cowboy Now" and "Last Chance Tattoo." |
